Volume 4 is the latest in the Old Testament Overview series. In this particular volume, the author weaves together the history recorded in 1 Kings and 2 Chronicles chapters 1 to 20, and also gives us an overview of the prophets who served the Lord during this period. He states, ‘Kings is written to explain why the exile was inevitable and that God is just in His judgements. Chronicles, on the other hand, is much more positive, stressing the possibility of recovery'. As one might expect, there is a rich vein of practical truth in such a record.
The Books covered in this volume are: 1 Kings, 2 Chronicles chapters 1-20, Isaiah, Hosea, Amos, Jonah, Micah, Obadiah, and Nahum.
